Snails Pace Australia is proud to be leading the way in establishing a new agribusiness for the nation. And after eight years in the making, we’re thrilled to say we’re almost there!
Snails Pace Australia is an emerging agribusiness led by South West WA locals Jane Goff and Brett Coate, supported by a trained team of heliciculturalists. Together, they are establishing Australia’s first large‑scale commercial snail production facility and positioning the business to supply both domestic and international markets.
Jane is a multi award‑winning business owner and registered nurse who built her previous health training company from inception to success. That experience provided a strong foundation in business development, operational resilience and long‑term sustainability. Her background in disease management and infection control transfers to ease of operation of Snails Pace Australia’s biosecure, climate‑controlled facility. After two decades in healthcare and education, Jane transitioned her expertise to the agribusiness sector while retaining a strong focus on quality, compliance and commercial excellence.
Brett brings a complementary leadership profile, with extensive experience in executive management, strategic leadership, operations and organisational development. He is highly effective in stakeholder engagement, relationship building and industry partnership development. His commercial insight and operational oversight have been central to progressing Snails Pace Australia from concept to a structured, market‑ready enterprise.
Australia is recognised globally for its excellence in agribusiness, with premium‑quality produce valued for its safety, reliability and rigorous standards. All snails produced will be accompanied by a health certificate and supported by full traceability throughout the production cycle, ensuring transparency, quality assurance and confidence for distributors, manufacturers and international buyers.
With no other large‑scale commercial snail farms currently operating in Australia, Snails Pace Australia has spent several years considering a purpose‑built facility designed for reliable, year‑round production. The operation incorporates climate control, biosecurity protocols and quality‑assured processes managed by trained staff. This ensures consistent, premium‑grade output suitable for chefs, distributors, wholesalers and food manufacturers seeking dependable supply.
Production is scheduled to commence in early 2027, with a projected harvest exceeding 25 tonnes in spring. The business is positioned to meet growing demand across Australian and global markets, supported by a scalable operational model and a strong commitment to long‑term industry development.
